Several railroads offer access to mountain locations that are otherwise largely inaccessible. These railroads once served mining communities which have since become tourist destinations.

Colorado cuisine includes Mexican, Asian, Southwestern, and American influences. Game meat, such as quail, venison, buffalo and elk, along with sage, corn, mushrooms squash and potatoes are popular local ingredients.
